My 4 Favourite Warm Grays by Sherwin Williams

Image
Hi Everyone Thanks for checking out my blog.  Today I wanted to share with you 4 of my favourite warm gray paint colours.  These paint colours are all Sherwin Williams as those are the colours I generally work with on my consultations.   Now I know what you are thinking - there is no such thing as a warm gray 😏.  And don't get me wrong - a warm gray is still going to be gray, which is technically a cooler colour.  In this blog when I'm referring to a warm gray, I'm not referring to the undertone but what makes these grays warm is that the have some amount of beige or brown in them.  I'm sure you've heard the term "greige" (gray+beige) and everyone has a different take on what is a greige so I'm simply going to refer to these following paint colours as warm grays. With the neutral colours it's important to be able to detect the undertone to ensure it will work with your existing furnishes.  When choosing a neutral colour (such as a warm gray) you ...

My 5 Favourite Dark Blue Paint Colours by Sherwin Williams

Image
Hi Everyone! Thanks for checking out my blog.  Today I wanted to share with you 5 of my favourite dark blue paint colours.  The colours I will be sharing are Sherwin Williams paint colours as those are the colours I generally work with on consultations.  Dark blues or dark blue/grays continue to be a client favourite whether I am choosing paint colours for the interior or exterior.   There are so many different ways to incorporate these luxurious paint colours into your home - a feature wall, an all over colour or doors are just a few examples. The colour blue represents trust, honesty and loyalty and in the world of colour, I truly believe, it is a timeless classic.  Another reason I love working with these darker blues is there almost no limit to what other colours can be paired with them. Outerspace SW 6251 Outerspace by Sherwin Williams is a paint colour I've worked with many, many times on both interiors and exteriors.  This is a popular colo...

My 5 Favourite Warm Neutral Paint Colours from Sherwin Williams

Image
Hi Everyone Thanks for checking out my blog today. For the last few months I have been sharing some of my favourite Sherwin Williams paint colours but I wanted to do things a little differently this month.  Instead of featuring just one paint colour, I wanted to share with you 5 of my favourite, warm neutrals.  What makes them a warm neutrals (I'm sure you are asking yourself 😏)?  I don't want to get too technical but I want to differentiate between what we've been taught in regards to the colour wheel - that warm colours are red, yellow orange etc and the cool colours are blue, green violet etc. For this particular blog when I'm referring to warm neutral, I am not referring to the undertone but instead I'm referring to neutrals that have some amount of beige in them.  It does not necessarily have to be a beige or a tan paint colour - even gray can be a warm neutral provided there is some beige incorporated into it.  I'm not sure if you've noticed but desig...

Fresh Look's Feature Paint Colour for June

Image
Hi Everyone Thanks for checking out my blog.  It's a rainy, gloomy day here today in Calgary so I decided to get busy on my feature paint colour for the month of June.  We've had a late start to spring here but it's finally starting to green up!   I hope things are going well for you as we are slowly returning to, what will probably be for quite a while, our new normal. Fresh Look's Feature Paint Colour for June - Mediterranean SW 7617 Mediterranean by Sherwin Williams is a beautiful teal colour.   Mediterranean is a very livable colour as it does have some gray in it as well.  You've probably heard the colour teal and turquoise used interchangeably but turquoise is a light to medium tone and more blue than green while teal is a darker blue-green.  You'll also hear Peacock blue as another description.  I would refer to Mediterranean as a classic colour - meaning it's a colour that will not date itself over time. In this next picture we used M...

Fresh Look's Feature Paint Colour for May

Image
Hi Everyone Thanks for checking out my blog.  I think we might actually be able to say Spring has finally arrived!  Although I see snow in the forecast 😞 for next week, but hopefully that changes, as I am sooo done with snow for now.  I hope you are doing as well as can be expected in these unprecedented times.  With the nicer weather finally here, I have been keeping busy with exterior consultations.  I love doing exteriors as it's a great way to add curb appeal to your home (and who doesn't love a good before and after)! Feature Paint Colour for May - Outerspace SW 6251 For the month of May, because it's such a great time to update the exterior of your home, the colour I have chosen Outerspace SW 6251, looks great on the inside or outside of your home.  Outerspace is a dark blue with gray in it, so it reads as a softer navy blue.  There are so many ways to incorporate this lux colour inside or outside your home. In the following picture the...
